Donate by post
You can send a donation - cheques made payable to The Carmelites - direct to the Shrine and send to: Carmelite Friars, PO Box 140, Kent, ME20 7SJ. If you are a UK tax-payer you can make your donation go further by completing and sending us a Gift Aid declaration.
Donate as you shop
You can help the Carmelites every time you shop on the internet via a website called The Giving Machine.
All you need to do is to provide your email address to the Shrine Office, and we’ll do the rest; to contact us by email click here. Once we have registered you and sent you details you can shop online at any of the 400+ top retailers who have teamed up with charities via The Giving Machine.
By entering the site through a special portal you can take advantage of the many exclusive special offers and discounts available to all givers, and every time you shop via The Giving Machine the retailer pays a sales commission. The Giving Machine converts 75% of this commission into a donation to the Carmelites so we can use the money for our work.

We are very careful to make sure that your donations are used in a good and proper way. The British Province of Carmelites is a registered charity (Carmelite Charitable Trust - Reg. No. 1061342) and our accounts are submitted for scrutiny by independent auditors and the Charity Commission.
The group Charity Choice analyse charitable income and expenditure to help donors choose the most efficient charities to give to. In 2014 Charity Choice published a report that the UK's top 100 charities spend on average 78p in every pound on charitable activities with 21p spent on income generation and 1p on governance. We are proud that, as Charity Choice reports, in the year ending 2014 the Carmelite Charitable Trust spent 85.3p in every pound on charitable activities and 14.7p on governance and income generation, which is better than the average of the UK's top 100 charities.
