For over 60 years the National Shrine of Saint Jude has supported the communities and ministries of the Carmelite Friars in Great Britain, enabling us in turn to support the great work of the Carmelite Missions around the world.
In particular, the donations received at the National Shrine of Saint Jude support the formation and training of new brothers in the Order, ensuring that Carmelites can continue to preach the Good News of God's love for all.
As mendicant friars (begging brothers) we depend entirely on the providence of God shown through the support of God's people, and we pray daily for our benefactors. Please remember us when you pray. May God, who is never outdone in generosity, through the intercession of Saint Jude, bless you for your kindness.
If you wish to help support our valuable work then you can donate in a number of ways.

Donate as you shop
You can help the Carmelites every time you shop on the internet via a website called The Giving Machine.

All you need to do is to provide your email address to the Shrine Office, and we’ll do the rest; to contact us by email click here. Once we have registered you and sent you details you can shop online at any of the 400+ top retailers who have teamed up with charities via The Giving Machine.

By entering the site through a special portal you can take advantage of the many exclusive special offers and discounts available to all givers, and every time you shop via The Giving Machine the retailer pays a sales commission. The Giving Machine converts 75% of this commission into a donation to the Carmelites so we can use the money for our work.

Donate your print cartridges

You can now recycle your ink cartridges with the National Shrine of Saint Jude via The Recycling Factory. The Recycling Factory collect and recycle over 8 million inkjet & toner cartridges each year and whether you’ve got one, or hundreds of cartridges, we can help you to recycle them. Each ink cartridge that they receive, the Carmelites and the National Shrine of Saint Jude will receive a donation. More information on what can be recycled and how to recycle your cartridges please visit our special website.

Donate in your will
You can also leave a legacy to the Carmelites in your will; for more information please contact the Shrine Office or view our leaflet.

Making the most of your kindness
We are very careful to make sure that your donations are used in a good and proper way. The British Province of Carmelites is a registered charity (Carmelite Charitable Trust - Reg. No. 1061342) and our accounts are submitted for scrutiny by independent auditors and the Charity Commission.

The group Charity Choice analyse charitable income and expenditure to help donors choose the most efficient charities to give to. In 2014 Charity Choice published a report that the UK's top 100 charities spend on average 78p in every pound on charitable activities with 21p spent on income generation and 1p on governance. We are proud that, as Charity Choice reports, in the year ending 2014 the Carmelite Charitable Trust spent 85.3p in every pound on charitable activities and 14.7p on governance and income generation, which is better than the average of the UK's top 100 charities.
