Saint Jude was one of the Twelve Apostles appointed by Jesus to lead his Church, and is a powerful intercessor, as the letters we receive testify. He answers to petitions about problems considered beyond human help: he is the saint of helping with the impossible.
In our Christian lives prayer is an absolutely necessary activity. We can perform many good deeds, but we have to check in with God from time to time and keep in contact with him.
We are very pleased to announce that as well as the brand new Saint Jude prayer book
released last year, we are ready to launch our new initiative called “Saint Jude at home”.
At the end of each month, those who want to subscribe will receive a pack of five cards, which will include prayers and reflections on a particular subject. It is hoped that these cards will help each of us in our daily lives through prayer and reflection with Saint Jude. Each month a new person will write a reflection. Fr Kevin Alban, Prior Provincial is writing the first one. If you would like to subscribe, please click here
for our form or here
to pay for a year via our online shop.
Fr Kevin Alban was born in Buckinghamshire, England, and made his profession as a Carmelite friar in 1996. After studies in Rome, Oxford, and London, and time as an English language teacher, he was ordained priest in 2001. Kevin went on to be Vocations Director and Director of the Shrine of Saint Jude. From 2001 - 2013, he was based in Rome as Secretary General and then Bursar General of the whole order. Since 2017, he has been Prior Provincial of the British Province.
All donations help keep the Carmelite Order and its work secure for many generations to come. Benefactors are remembered by the Shrine and our friar communities across the UK. The Carmelite Charitable Trust is a registered charity (1061342).
