Annual Fund 2024

Friday, May 10, 2024 - 11:00

For over 800 years the Carmelites have responded to God’s call in Britain and throughout the world providing a significant response to the needs of an ever-changing world. The Order seeks the face of the living God not only in prayer and fraternity but also in service.

Today the Carmelites work alongside all people of faith and goodwill, which is done through traditional Christian ministry and by being available to those who are often at the edges of Church and society. The Carmelite Charitable Trust serves the community throughout Britain: running and working at the Shrine of Saint Jude, in parishes, prisons, and hospitals, and running and working at Aylesford Priory. It also supports Carmelite communities across the world, but particularly in Colombia, East Timor and Kenya.

We receive no state support and rely on the generosity of people like you to fund the work of the Carmelite Charitable Trust in building up God's Church and benefitting people throughout society.

Every gift makes a difference

Thanks to the support of many friends of Saint Jude last year, we were able to refurbish many parts of the Shrine, support ongoing projects for vocations and support the missions around the world. Thank you.

In 2024, we are looking for your support in four areas:
•    Saint Jude Welcome Centre Complex
•    Saint Jude Footprints of Hope project
•    Vocations
•    Where we need it most

All the above are outlined in greater detail in the booklet (please click on the image below).

Our Garden of Hope (opened in 2021) will be dedicated to those people who donate to the Annual Fund or for those people you have asked us to remember. The names are renewed each year. If you are able, you can add an extra donation for the work we are doing to the garden via our donation page.

Thank you for all your support and for all your prayers, without which the Shrine and the Trust could not continue.  As well as being remembered in the Garden of Hope, benefactors to the fund are also prayed for and remembered by the Shrine’s Carmelite community and our friar communities across the UK.

If you can help, have any questions, or would like to visit the Shrine, please do not hesitate to contact the office.

Thank you so much for your kind support of the Shrine of Saint Jude and the Carmelite Charitable Trust.
